According to penaltyfareappeal.co.uk and a chap on twitter who ‘knows a man who knows a man’ it looks like Thameslink season ticket holders are to get 5 free days travel. More details can be found on the penalty fare appeal website here. FCC have seen a backlash from customers who feel the current ‘delay repay’ system is inadequate , especially during the recent debarcle with the drivers refusing to work overtime and it looks like FCC have decided to ‘get customers back on side’ by giving us 5 days free travel.
BUT – how will this system work? Word on the street is that customers will be issues some kind of scratch card that will allow us to choose what day we want to use our free travel on.
Details are still being confirmed, and it is not clear what season ticket holders will qualify i.e. weekly / monthly season ticket holders / oyster travelcards.
Details to follow.

OMG – Scratch card? I rather they buy me 5 lottery scratch cards, at least that way there is greater probability that I will get some thing in return!
I am a yearly season ticket holder, so when would i get to use the scratch card? A waste of time and our money!!
What a cr@p idea! They can shove the 5 days as far as I’m concerned. If they can’t run a service they should simply give us money off of our renewals as 5 days is worth jack. They value a single fare for me at £7 so this totals a miserable £70
We’ve had a 50% service for the past few months so they should give us 50% back for those months, which should be more like £450.
Like Ain2001 I rather trust my luck on a lottery scratch card!
Has anyone actually worked out how to get this yet, or has it not yet been announced? I buy a monthly travelcard but get it on my oyster so i don’t get screwed if i need to go outside the zones i pay for, as i used to frequently – does anyone know if i can actually do delay repay? It seems ridiculously complicated and asks for all thsi information i clearly don’t have that makes it seem so pointless for the amount of money i’d get back, but i really feel like i need to do it on principle. any help in clawing a bit of money back from them greatfully appreciated! got to work at 10 today and got back at 9pm, long day…….
