FCC Kick of 2012 With a Clunk

Between 11th December and the 7th January 89.0% of Thameslink services ran with less than a 5 minute delay at their final destination, and so considered ‘on time’ by First Capital Connect. This is still below their previously published target of 90.32%.

3.5% of services were cancelled for part or all of their journey across the whole First Capital Connect network. FCC do not publish these stats for the Thameslink route alone.

Excuse of the month: Train failure north of Farringdon. For more excuses see out FCC excuses page.

The full statistics can be found on the FCC website here (pdf)

Hi there,

I found this website after another infuriating journey with FCC. I must say that I admire your tenacity and persistence with this blog; i’ve spent the last few months plotting the letters, the consumer fightback, demanding money back from FCC…but by the time I reach the office or reach home, i’m normally too tired or loose interest in the fight.

I commute from Elstree to Farringdon everyday on the Thameslink and have a girlfriend living in Herne Hill (which FCC makes extremely inconvenient at the weekends).

I’ve been thinking about organising a monthly consumer boycott, where commuters are encouraged to travel without paying for a day of the peak service doesn’t meet the expectations of passengers in the previous month. What do you think of this idea? Have you tried anything like this?
